Nokia sets up shop at the latest Burton Snowboarding European Open in Laax, Switzerland; popping collars, tents, and tramps, so to speak; surrounding it all by 18 Nokia Lumia 800s spanning 180 degrees.

The goal?

To get the hottest snowboards of the world to flaunt their best tricks on the 180 degree Freeze Tramp — all of it captured on cam.

The Nokia Lumia 800 features: 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1mm hand held; GSM of up to 13 h; WCDMA up to 9.5 h; Video playback time up to 6.5 h; Music playback time up to 55 h.

It’s screen? 3.7” ClearBack AMOLED display with WVGA 800×480 resolution; 16-million colours.

Plummeting Response Rates Pose Concern

Here’s an interesting statistic.

YouGov has recently released an interesting mobile discovery to Tech Crunch, advising mobile ad companies need to find a new inventive way to make ads more productive.

In 1997, there was a 7 percent average for mobile ad response whereas 2011 only stimulated 0.1 percent.

But which mobile users tend to click the ad?

According to by Smaato 2010 report, it was not Android, Blackberry, or iPhone users; it was the Symbian-powered cell phones via Nokia.

In 2011, Windows Phone 7 came out at the top as with Nokia.

TELUS: March 9th launch for the Nokia Lumia 800

Nokia Luma 800: 2nd Windows Phone to be launched by Nokia in Canada.

Good news is just around the corner Nokia fans! The long-awaited Nokia Luma 800 is set to soon hit local Telus retailers. If you’ve been following Nokia headlines as of late, you’ll know how big of a buzz the Luma 800 has created throughout the wireless blogosphere.

Major Telus employee training sessions have been rolling out of the wood works for a while now, teaching front line “tech titans,” so to speak, all of the bells and whistles of Windows Phone 7.5.

According to the tech sheet, the Nokia Luma 800 will have a 3.7-inch display, 1.4Ghz Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 16GB internal storage and an 8MP Carl Zeiss camera, definitely a lot to get giddy about.

The official launch we hear is set for the March 5th week. Could this mean Cellular Firm will soon carry Nokia Luma 800 smartphone accessories?

Q4 results: Nokia is the World’s Biggest Windows Phone Vendor

Nokia releases amazing Q4-results, winning the bragging rights as the world’s biggest window phone vendor. Of course, their partnership with Microsoft may be the sole reason the Finnish company has emerged as the world’s number one Windows Phone vendor in the world.

According to research firm, Strategy Analytics, Nokia has shipped 900, 000 Windows Phones, Nokia overtook HTC and others, gobbling up 33 percent of the market pie.

In comparison to iPhone with sales of 37-million in Q4, Windows numbers are smaller in scale but have risen at 2.7 million units, a 36 percent increase from Q3.

However, Nokia has only begun to focus of the US market, as initially, the European and Asian countries were targeted.

Strategy Analytics states that Nokia’s expansion of Windows 7 latest models like the Lumia 800 were the reason for the companies increased popularity.

Nokia is expected to launch at least one Windows Phone at the Mobile World Congress next week. As Nokia’s partnership has turned one, Nokia needs to raise the bar to be at the level competitor for the iPhone.
